Using the flash allows you to photograph restless kids, getting sharp and clear pictures. It is convenient to use cameras with built-in flash, but it should not be abused. However, there is nothing better than natural light, and the capabilities of modern cameras allow you to shoot in faint lighting, so try to make maximum use of natural light.

It is also comfortable to use cameras with a focal distance range of about 28-100mm. We would not advise you to use the wide-angle lens, such as 17mm or 20mm, as the faces on the photos may be a little distorted.

But there are still a number of cases where the wide-angle and telephoto lenses can be useful. For example, if you shoot in a small room, it will be difficult without a wide-angle to photograph a child full-length or with the interior surrounding him.

In order to be able to photograph a vivid, natural expression of the child's face, take pictures when he is busy with something. For example, he is eating or playing. This pastime is the perfect time to shoot. Step back a little bit and take photos with a help of telephoto lens, then the child will not notice that he is the object of shooting, and you will have an opportunity to photograph more natural facial expression or posture.
